It is being reported that For Life has been cancelled by ABC after two seasons. The sad news comes three months after the legal drama wrapped its sophomore run, with its February 24 episode now serving as its series ender.
The hour-long show was never a ratings hit, but fared well enough in its debut outing to earn a second season. The renewal seemed in doubt at the time, as it didn't come until June. Still, it was the only new show on the network to return in 2021.
Inspired by the true story of Isaac Wright Jr., For Life follows a wrongly-convicted prisoner serving a life sentence. Determined to fight for his freedom and get back to his family, he studies to become a lawyer while behind bars, litigating cases for fellow inmates while working towards overturning his conviction.

Funny. The on spouting out "The racists win again" is most likely a racist themselves. Only real racists whine about things being racial.

How ignorant can comments be when someone spouts off about racists winning. And I don't feel it had to do with lost momentum either - it morphed & took a new direction as it had to & became a human interest story of the lives of people affected by a wrongful conviction. I liked this show & cast. Too bad it's gone.

Jayna how exactly did racists win? The only reason a show gets canceled is because of ratings that's why agenda shows get canned all the time people just want entertainment not agenda

It was a really good first season, but once he got out, it really lost momentum, it’s called “For Life”, then he got out , it’s not really for life is it?

Sad news. My husband and I looked forward to and enjoyed watching this Show. Seems, no matter what channel, as soon as something comes on that even hints at justice reform it’s taken off. We’ll go back to PBS, HGTV, Food Channel and watch their shows. About time the networks stopped catering to the 30s and under.

Oh no, what will I do for my social justice fix? Oh yea, I can just watch every other show on TV now days.
