The action comedy is still coming back for Season 2.
June 8, 2021
Die Hart has been picked up by Roku for a second season. The news may sound familiar, as the former Quibi original was already slated to return for Season 2 before the mobile streaming service shut down its operations last year.
Roku stepped in last month to offer all former Quibi series as Roku Originals, giving the shows a possible second life on the Roku Channel. Today the outlet has made its first official renewal with Season 2 of Die Hart, which will still be titled Die Harter.
In the action comedy, superstar Kevin Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself. Always wanting to be an action movie star, he learns a new set of skills before he can be cast in a life-changing role by training at the world's top action star school, run by a crazy coach who will push him to his limits. But he'll face his fears and try to survive a series of over-the-top action sequences if he wants to achieve his dream.

Quibi.. as a model... is pretty much a joke to everyone. They've had some decent content, but the 7min episodes are just ridiculous. If I have 7 minutes to wait on something, I'm not pulling up a Quibi episode to watch.

@Tucker - interesting. I guess whether it's a good idea or not is that format is satisfying and the content is good. I have no idea what is working for mobile devices since that's a last resort for me. Apparently this didn't work. Roku obviously got it for nothing but they'll have to invest. Roku must have money but they are unlikely to spend a lot since they're really hardware. As of yet. Are they planning to enter the world of thiroughly watered-down pay-for programming.

@Steve S ... each EPISODE is under 10 minutes... but there are generally a few episodes. The show in it's entirety isn't encapsulated in under 10 minutes. Each season lasts around 1-1.5 hrs when you combine all the episodes.

I just now read some accounts on the ongoing Google versus Roku squabble (involving YouTube TV). Each gives an opposite account of the squabble so one or both of them are heavily lying. You can't trust the critics about what's happening either. Might as well use your own biases. For me, Google has long earned their place in hell regardless of the merits of this conflict. Don't know much about Roku's character.

"Wow" - I've asked before: What's a Quibi? It was less than I thought (from Wikipedia):
Quibi was an over-the-top American short-form streaming platform that generated content for viewing on mobile devices. To capitalize on mobile viewing specifically, Quibi provided "quick bites" of content that can be viewed under 10 minutes
I was wondering what "Make it longer" meant (in context). So Die Hart and everything else was only 10 minutes or less. No wonder Die Hart doesn't even get an entry on Wikipedia. Now Roku has Quibi and it will be free to watch for me - I could - but I've never watched Roku's programming yet. But Roku recently announced that Google (with Youtube TV) was encroaching on independence and privacy (my words). Google is definitely evil so maybe Roku is a good guy. Don't know but hope so.
