Canada's Global TV has announced that Private Eyes will be coming to an end after its upcoming fifth season. The detective dramedy, which airs on ION Television in the US, will be wrapping up a successful run of 60 episodes that has resonated with audiences around the world.
The series stars Jason Priestley as former pro hockey player Matt Shade, who cuts his playing career short when he teams up with private investigator Angie Everett, working alongside her as a detective. The new partnership forces Matt to examine who he has become and who he wants to be while investigating high-stakes crimes. Together, the powerhouse duo challenge each other on the job and in their everyday lives.
The fifth and final season of Private Eyes will consist of eight episodes - its shortest run yet due to filming limitations caused by COVID-19. It will premiere for Canadian audiences on July 7.

I really enjoy watching Private Eyes. The story lines are intriguing and interweaving the family story makes for very good entertainment. I do hope Global reconsiders not picking up the show for 2022. Perhaps CBC or CityTV will be more receptive.

I really like the Private Eye TV show. Enjoy the Shade and Everett working together solving troubles for people. Please keep the show going. I agree with others the reality shows are not for the over 60 age group. I like this show filmed in Toronto; a Canadian made TV show.

We are saddened to hear that this show is coming to an end. We have so few programs that interest us these days. I hope that some other network steps in & saves this program. Save Private Eyes!!!

So disappointed this is the final season!Surely some other network will be smart enough to grab this one? CBC, where are you? You made the call for "Murdoch Mysteries," this could be just as successful. Please ensure quality Canadian tv can continue and don't let this one go.

Sooooo disappointed to hear this is the last season. Was it the networks choice or the shows choice? Would love to have some other network keep it going!! Should start a petition

Very disappointed with Global…there is nothing good on this station as all they do is pick up the American show very sad !!! We are losing such a great show filmed in Toronto. No more reality shows ..especially when most are scripted and not very well.

It is such a shame that such a great programme is ending. Great story lines with a great cast that has amazing chemistry. There is very little good TV to watch - just a lot of boring reality. It’s nice to have a great show filmed and showcasing Toronto. Hopefully someone will pick it up .
