The Canadian detective dramedy will wrap with 8 final episodes.
June 11, 2021
Canada's Global TV has announced that Private Eyes will be coming to an end after its upcoming fifth season. The detective dramedy, which airs on ION Television in the US, will be wrapping up a successful run of 60 episodes that has resonated with audiences around the world.
The series stars Jason Priestley as former pro hockey player Matt Shade, who cuts his playing career short when he teams up with private investigator Angie Everett, working alongside her as a detective. The new partnership forces Matt to examine who he has become and who he wants to be while investigating high-stakes crimes. Together, the powerhouse duo challenge each other on the job and in their everyday lives.
The fifth and final season of Private Eyes will consist of eight episodes - its shortest run yet due to filming limitations caused by COVID-19. It will premiere for Canadian audiences on July 7.

This is very sad. A great show. They seem to cancel the good ones and leave trash reality on the air. Love the show.

What a shame. This is a great show that has excellent chemistry between the actors. Hopefully some network picks up this show. But I am sure another ridiculous not even close to reality show will fill the spot.

What a shame. Canadian show filmed in a real Toronto. Good, funny stories with a super cast and a great supporting cast. With all the crazy COVID stuff happening, it was the one shining light that we always look forward to watching. Let's hope a smart network will pick it up before the actors get other jobs.

Really sad this great Canadian show is ending. Also disappointed that it’s also a shorter season. Let’s hope another network picks this show up. I’m tired and bored with reality tv. The day to day world is enough reality for me, I love to escape with tv. #Bring back Shade & Angie!

So disappointed! There are not that many shows on network TV that we watch. And this was an excellent, unabashedly Canadian show. Back to Netflix, prime and Britbox.

Sure would be nice if just once network programmers would listen to viewers and renew popular shows.

I am seriously losing patience this year. All my fav shows are getting cancelled.
I literally HATE reality tv.
The past two years have been hell. I was looking forward to some good tv shows . Now most are cancelled.

Disappointment does not aptly describe my reaction to the cancellation of this program. It is one of very few I look forward to watching. In my opinion, a ray of light in a huge sea of TV crap.
