The Canadian detective dramedy will wrap with 8 final episodes.
June 11, 2021
Canada's Global TV has announced that Private Eyes will be coming to an end after its upcoming fifth season. The detective dramedy, which airs on ION Television in the US, will be wrapping up a successful run of 60 episodes that has resonated with audiences around the world.
The series stars Jason Priestley as former pro hockey player Matt Shade, who cuts his playing career short when he teams up with private investigator Angie Everett, working alongside her as a detective. The new partnership forces Matt to examine who he has become and who he wants to be while investigating high-stakes crimes. Together, the powerhouse duo challenge each other on the job and in their everyday lives.
The fifth and final season of Private Eyes will consist of eight episodes - its shortest run yet due to filming limitations caused by COVID-19. It will premiere for Canadian audiences on July 7.

I'm so disappointed to see they are canceling this show! It's one of my favourites and I was looking forward to the new season tonight, only to find out that it will be the last season. Love the show and will miss it. Hopefully it will find another home at another network....are you listening CBC?

What the heck? A good television show that I have enjoyed since the beginning. They will probably replace this outstanding show with some ludicrous crap like reality television or some other music discovery show. Haven’t we had enough of this stupid tv? Already I watch 50% less tv than in the past.

So sad to hear the show is ending it's one that I wait for every time a season ends and it's nice to see the show is set in Toronto and it doesn't hide that fact. I will miss privatized and the two lead actors

This is one of the best shows on TV and once again the network crams junk down your throat and takes it away. The characters played off one another so well and it was appropriate for any age.

WHY are they cancelling such a well liked and popular show?

So sad that this series is being cancelled. It was a great series! We watched it with our daughter every week. Why do they always take off a show that a family can watch together?

Why is it that when there is an enjoyable show that the whole family can actually sit down and watch together, the network cancels it even though the ratings are good. I know a lot of my family and friends are not into reality shows which are not always reality!!!

So very disappointed to learn Private Eyes is coming to an end. I watch this show with my 10 year old daughter and my 80 plus year old parents. Although there is some mature content for my child, it is so entertaining for all of us. Was a great ‘Canadian’ show that we could be proud to show worldwide. Hopefully the decision makers will rethink the decision to cancel the show.

I am so sad that Private Eyes is leaving.
It was a great the acting was superb and lots of laughs. I love the Canadian shows watch more of them than the US but it seems like they are cancelling all the good Canadian shows. I am also disappointed In Global. I guess Global must have US Bosses

Great Show. The only thing about that show that should be cancelled is the employment of the person that decided to take it off the air.
