Netflix announced today that The Upshaws has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just over a month following the release of the comedy's 10-episode freshman run, which garnered positive-leaning reviews from critics.
The streaming service must be pleased with the show's performance thus far, as it is one of just a handful of Netflix sitcoms in recent years that has made it past a single season. Also, the episode count is going up to 16 for Season 2 - a healthy increase over Season 1.
The half-hour series follows the titular working-class Black family, who live in Indiana and are all looking for a happy home and a better life while juggling everyday struggles.
Look for Season 2 of The Upshaws in 2022.
