Word is out that PBS' Arthur will be coming to an end after 25 seasons. The long-running children's educational series will air its final episodes during the winter of 2022, concluding a run of over 250 episodes that began in 1996.

During an interview on the 'Finding D.W.' podcast, Kathy Waugh, who developed the series, confirmed that the show was ending with its upcoming season.

"Arthur is no longer in production," Waugh stated. "We had our wrap party two years ago. I think [PBS] made a mistake, and I think Arthur should come back and I know I'm not alone in thinking they made a mistake. I don't know if it was a ratings issue or if it felt like it needed to be retired. To me, it felt evergreen like it was never going to end but it did end. We finished the last episode of Season 25 two years ago."

There was also a tweet from actor Bruce Dinsmore from back in 2018 that indicated he had finished his last session with the show.

Based on the 'Arthur Adventure' book series for kids by Marc Brown, the animated series follows Arthur Reed, an eight-year-old aardvark who lives in the fictional town of Elwood City. He's a third-grade student at Lakewood Elementary School, and episodes of the show teach kids how to deal with childhood challenges like homework, illness, and bullies.
