Netflix announced today that High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America has been picked up for a second season. The news comes two months after the docuseries released its four-episode freshman run.
Based on James Beard Award-winning author Jessica B. Harris' book, the series follows food writer Stephen Satterfield on his journey to uncover the history behind Black food in America. He examines how it has been shaped by throughlines from Africa to Texas, and also meets the new generation preserving its history.
