It is being reported that PEN15 will be coming to an end at the end of its current second season. The news comes midway through the comedy's sophomore run, with its now-final batch of seven episodes set to release on December 3.
The series was co-created by Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, who also have lead roles and co-write some of the episodes. The duo play fictionalized versions of themselves as two thirteen-year-old friends in the year 2000 who are considered outcasts in their middle school at a time in their lives when the best day of your life can turn into the worst with the stroke of a gel pen.

Considering the fact that both the stars became first time parents this year . . . Running a TV Series is not likely to go well.
If they can retool their show to go 100% animated like they did with that recent special, they can still make boatloads of revenue. But that will take time to sort their formulas. They wont be gone forever.
