HBO Max announced today that Peacemaker has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes a month into the comedic drama's run and the day ahead of its freshman finale.

Created by James Gunn, the show is the first original series on the streaming platform to be based on a DC property. Since its premiere the show has garnered a good amount of buzz as well as a solid critical reception. Gunn is slated to write and direct all Season 2 episodes.

Set after the events of 'The Suicide Squad' film, Peacemaker explores the origins of the titular DC Comics character and his subsequent adventures, which find him with a new team and a new mission - all in the name of achieving peace at any cost.
