No Season 3 for the historical drama.

It is being reported that HBO has cancelled Gentleman Jack after two seasons. The news comes less than a month after the period drama wrapped its sophomore run on the cable network. While the series did garner high praise from critics, it ranked as one of HBO's lower-rated originals.
A co-production between HBO and BBC One in the UK, the series is based on the collected diaries of Anne Lister - a charismatic and passionate woman in the 1800s who had a mind for business and a willingness to buck society's expectations. In the complex times of 1832 in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Anne is determined to reverse the fate of her faded ancestral home of Shibden Hall by reopening the coal mines and marrying well. But she does not intend to marry a man.

I loved this show! Suranne Jones and the rest of the cast were wonderful. It was refreshing to see a strong-willed and successful woman, especially for that time. I have enjoyed many shows that HBO produced, and this was one of my favorites.

I really enjoyed the first season.... second season was a snoozer! I guess I am not surprised it got dumped.

.. silly... woke... junk... and unrealistic for the time period. Another attempt to rewrite history.

it was in part a good show. It just got too in to the lesbian detail. It started off just knowing the female to female attraction. It was really about a brilliant forward thinking daughter who bested the society to make money. Then, it derailed, by showing too much personal female troubles. And guess what? We are two gay men. We stopped after episode 4
