It was announced today that Desus & Mero has come to an end on Showtime after four seasons. The decision wasn't the network's though, as the show's official Twitter account posted a statement that the two will be parting ways to pursue their own creative endeavors.
Desus & Mero premiered in 2019 as the first show of its kind on Showtime, going on to become its signature late-night series. It has been praised by critics as a solid edition to the overall late night landscape. The show aired a total of 174 episodes, with its June 23 episode now serving as its series finale.
Known for their popular "Bodega Boys" podcast, Desus Nice and Kid Mero hosted the late-night talk show that originated in 2016 on Viceland. Its latest incarnation on Showtime continued to feature the duo's quick comedic wit and unique voice while touching on important topics such as pop culture, sports, music, and politics with various guests.
Bodega Hive: The illustrious @desusnice and @THEKIDMERO will be pursuing separate creative endeavors moving forward. #DESUSandMERO will not be returning to SHOWTIME. It's been a good run, fam.
