The Western drama will return for a second season.

MGM+ announced today at the TCA Winter Press Tour that Billy the Kid has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes seven months after the Western drama wrapped its freshman run, which ultimately garnered a mixed critical reception.
For those unfamiliar with MGM+, it is the new name for Epix, which is officially being rebranded on January 15. The premium channel and streaming service is the home for shows such as 'Godfather of Harlem,' which returns for Season 3 on January 15, and 'From,' which will premiere its second season on April 23.
Billy the Kid follows the life of the titular outlaw, aka William H. Bonney, from his humble Irish roots to his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, and how he played a pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond. Season 2 will see Billy and his allies go up against his old friend Jesse Evans and the corrupt powers of the Santa Fe Ring.

Had just seen this series and few days ago and caught my eye! My wife and I started watching it and were glued to the screen! Great series! Just finished watching it! Hope to see season 3 soon

Awesome news, I got the wife hooked on western type shows, we really like this one, it moves a little slow at times, but it keeps your attention.

The first season dragged. Billy, his mom, and Jesse were fairly interesting. I know Billy did not start out as a gunman out of the womb but move a little quicker in season 2. Billy was educated and loyal, but also had a big ego. He was not as good as he is being portrayed here. Give him an edge.
