No Season 2 for the movie-based drama.
January 30, 2023
It is being reported that Showtime has cancelled American Gigolo after one season.
Coming three months after the drama wrapped its freshman run, the news follows the announcement by Paramount Global that Showtime will no longer operate as a standalone network. At some point this year, Showtime will be rebranded as 'Paramount+ with Showtime,' and its content will be available on the premium tier of Paramount+.
Based on the 1980 movie of the same name, the series follows Julian Kaye, who has spent the last 15 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. After his wrongful conviction release, he navigates his complicated relationships with his former lover, his troubled mother, and the people who betrayed him. While Julian struggles to reconcile the escort he was in the past and the man he is now, a determined detective seeks to uncover the truth about the murder that sent Julian to prison, which unearths a much larger conspiracy along the way.

He was great as The Punisher when he was introduced in Daredevil series, but his own show was strictly meh. I could not even get through all of season 2.
This one is the same. I like his acting, and the story is ok so far, but theres something about it that I haven't watched beyond 3 episodes. I have them lined up in my watchlist, but...you know...
I hope he does something that does not invoke this reaction in me. I like him as an actor.
