Word is out that I Love That for You has been cancelled by Showtime after just one season. The news comes nearly a full year after the comedy wrapped its 8-episode freshman run on the cable network.

"'I Love That for You' has completed its run on Showtime," a network spokesperson said in a released statement. "We want to thank Vanessa, Jeremy and Jessi, along with the incredible cast and crew for their hard work and wish them the best going forward."

Co-created and executive produced by Vanessa Bayer, the series was inspired by Bayer's own story of overcoming childhood leukemia. The story follows childhood leukemia survivor Joanna Gold, who has always dreamed of being a home shopping channel host. After landing a gig and moving away from her parents, she begins her first budding romance and befriends the charismatic star of the network, who she idolizes. When a white lie to her boss turns into something bigger, Joanna discovers that living the dream comes with a hefty price tag.
