The crime drama will not return for a second season.
August 3, 2023
It is being reported by Deadline that City on Fire has been cancelled by Apple TV+ after one season. The news comes less than two months after the crime drama wrapped its 8-episode freshman run, which ultimately garnered lackluster reviews.
Inspired by the acclaimed novel of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg, the series follows the aftermath of the Central Park shooting of an NYU student in 2003. As the crime is investigated, the victim is revealed to be the key connection between a series of mysterious fires around the city, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family fractured by the many secrets they keep.

Excellent show. Enjoyed the story and the acting. Not every show has to be Under The Dome and carry on endlessly to some nonsensical conclusion.

Saying the show was cancelled is weird. I don't believe the show was ever expected to have a second season. The storyline wraps up well so go ahead and watch it if you were planning to. I really enjoyed the show.

I was just getting ready to binge watch Season 1 as I was going down my list of new shows. Figured after Season 1 of Heels I'd start this one! Guess not now, that saved me a day!
Bring back East New York! That's a BS move cancelling that one, but yet Chucky has multiple season or Cruel Summer!
