It is being reported by Deadline that Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin has been cancelled by Peacock in a move that reverses the renewal it received earlier this year. The cancellation is said to be directly related to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The half-hour musical comedy premiered last November with a six-episode run that ultimately garnered a mixed reception from critics and viewers.
A spin-off of the 'Pitch Perfect' film franchise, the series follows Bumper Allen as he relocates to Germany to revive his music career after one of his a cappella songs on TikTok becomes a big hit in Berlin. Looking to further his dream of becoming an international pop star, he sets his sights on the national German Unity Day concert, which could finally help him transition from a cappella amateur into bona fide superstar.
