No Season 2 for the action comedy.

It is being reported that American Born Chinese has been cancelled by Disney+ after just one season. The news comes seven months after the action comedy released its 8-episode freshman run, which garnered a positive reception from both critics and viewers.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang, the series follows Jin Wang, a typical teenager juggling high school social life with his life at home. When he meets a new foreign exchange student on the first day of school, Jin becomes unwittingly entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods.
The cancellation does not come as a complete surprise, as the streaming service has been cutting back on the amount of original content it produces. While American Born Chinese was well received, it did not make it into Nielsen's weekly Top 10 streaming list.
