No Season 2 for the fantasy adventure series.
July 30, 2024
It is being reported by Deadline that Renegade Nell has been cancelled by Disney+ after just one season. The news comes four months after the historical fantasy adventure drama released its 8-episode freshman run.
"Disney+ Original series, Renegade Nell, will not be returning for a second season on the service," said a Disney spokesperson in a statement. "We're incredibly proud of the world created by Sally Wainwright and lead director Ben Taylor. We'd like to thank them, our production partners at Lookout Point, the entire cast – led by Louisa Harland – and crew for their incredible work on this series, all of whom we hope to work with again in the future."
The series follows Nell Jackson, a quick-witted and courageous young woman who is framed for murder, leaving her the most notorious outlaw in 18th-century England. When a magical spirit called Billy Blind appears, Nell realizes she is destined for something bigger than she ever imagined.

I am bummed. I was really looking forward to another season. The villains were great, fun, and super interesting. In my humble, the show got cancelled because it was a little weird and it had some real issues with pacing, even though it was super high action.
I agree about the woke agenda. Inclusivity is obviously disgusting and fundamentally threatens everyone’s wellbeing. Imagine having to see people who don’t look like you or people loving in a way that you don’t approve of, on a box in your living room. The monsters at Disney obviously have no respect for fascists. Thank goodness that really good Star Wars show with a villain to rival Darth Vader got cancelled because if its icky diversity hires.
People might snowflake melt in front of their TVs because they see a girl kiss another girl. The horror!

Before you respond "go woke or go broke":
Please take some time to formulate how a woke company is making $90 billion ayear but a "right wing" candidate who says he is worth billions is ask for handouts for his legal fees.

@dengar -- you apparently missed that interview with a Disney writer than specifically stated they were "going around to shows and inserting as much gay material as possible and no one was stopping" them. Studios want to make money, yes. Writers, producers, directors, etc are already paid and merely want to push agendas.

I found it a funny and entertaining show, not every show needs to be dissected.

Reading the comments section never disappoints. Nothing but regurgitated buzz words in recycled strings of nonsense.

Thank you, Hue. Jen is also right. The studios make programs for money, not to push agendas.

Seriously, I could not get past the first episode. So no loss for me. If it wasn't for Dr Who I probably would not even subscribe.

I am a left-wing voter, but I think WOKISM is garbage and hopefully won't exist in the near future. Compulsory 'gender-storyline' additions to shows will ensure their cancellation, as it is boring, and no-one wants to watch trans-genderism and 'gayness' for the sake of 'gayness'. Try the brilliant 'Colin from Accounts' (Australian program), it is hilarious and very much 'not' politically correct. A breath of fresh air compared to the woke garbage that is being offered up. Footnote: Colin is a dog. Two series currently available.

.. just wasn't very interesting to be honest. Other than the (seemingly required in 2024) lesbian twist.. there was nothing new here.
