No Season 2 for the new Star Wars series.
August 19, 2024
It is being reported by Deadline that The Acolyte has been cancelled by Disney+ after just one season. The news comes a month after the Star Wars series wrapped its 8-episode freshman run.
The move does not come as a complete surprise, as the show's high production costs would need a sizeable audience to justify a renewal. And while its premiere did draw the platform's largest viewership for a new series this year, its early success was short-lived, and the full season numbers were estimated to be low compared to other shows in the Star Wars universe.
The Acolyte is set during the final days of the High Republic era, about 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I. In the show, a former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. But in a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers, the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

That being said, these failures cannot be divorced from the DEI initiatives because the people making and acting in the show are hired for intersectional minority reasons and NOT because they're the best suited to make/act in a SW show.
The proof for this is in the interviews these "creators" give: Leslye Headland claims she's a big SW fan but then she goes on to say how she wanted to tell a story based on her own personal experience and just used SW as a vehicle for it. That's why she tries to make the Jedi look like some evil paternalistic group who won't let the poor witches and their girls live free. That's also why she brought Matrix fighting into a SW show, because she just thought that stuff was cool. Does it fit in SW? Headland doesn't care...
Star Wars is dead now and for at least the near future. Kathleen Kennedy has created a war with most of the Star Wars fans which she cannot be win but at the same time she refuses to accept defeat and move on. Meanwhile, her higher ups at Disney are too scared to fire her or admit things are not going well. Consequently, we will keep having shows like The Acolyte or Ahsoka ranging from horrible and lore-breaking to just boring and character-destroying respectively.
Any proof you have is cancelled by Deadpools box office, People will support woke companies.
You sound like a moron, especially with that earlier post. And that’s coming from somebody who had been making movies and shows for 25 years. It’s been proven time and time again that people don’t want this crap crammed down their throats. Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or serious. However, your last post leads me to believe you’re serious. You’re dead wrong too. Not an opinion either, because I can more than prove it.
Disney (the company that made this) is considered woke and makes $90,000,000,000 a year. Either you don't know what broke means or what woke means, cause that number shows America wants woke AND is willing to PAY FOR IT.
I'm gonna be the first person to probably tell you the truth because the Faux News your watching obviously won't. The world is looking for more of what you call "woke" and are Paying TRILLIONS of dollars for it. The people fighting it are having a hard time adjusting and are the ones declaring bankruptcy. They live in a bubble hearing only people trying to take advantage of them with made up slogans for them, like "woke, leftist, sheep, and snowflakes." They then reuse the term. It is what the manipulator a want because if "the manipulated" take the time to think of a comeback they realize they are wrong and start question the people taking advantage of them. Please take some time to formulate how a $90 billion dollar woke company is going bankrupt but a "right wing" candidate who says he is worth billions is ask for handouts for his legal fees.
Cry harder, leftist snowflake. Your tears are delicious.
Yeah. The world wants more “woke”. That explains why “woke” always fails, and the “woke” ALWAYS go broke.
