Apple TV+ announced today that Criminal Record has been renewed for a second season. The news comes six months after the British thriller wrapped its 8-episode freshman run. Star Cush Jumbo had already commented in an interview that Season 2 was in the works, but today's pickup makes it official.

Filmed in London, the series follows two brilliant London detectives - June, a young woman starting her career, and Daniel, a well-connected veteran determined to protect his legacy - who are drawn into a confrontation over an old murder conviction after an anonymous phone call sheds new light on the case.

In Season 2wo, June is the senior officer on the scene when a political rally is attacked by far-right counter-protesters. The violent clash leaves a young man dead. Consumed with guilt, June is desperate to bring the unknown killer to justice. To get help with the case she turns to Daniel, now a key figure in the shadowy world of police intelligence. He may have the answers she needs, but to get his help she will have to accept a dangerous bargain.
