No Season 2 for the ballet dramedy.

It is being reported by Deadline that Étoile has been cancelled by Prime Video after just one season. The move is somewhat surprising, as the dramedy had received an initial two-season order by the streamer. While the show garnered praise from critics and viewers, it failed to draw a sizeable audience.
From Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, the series follows dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies in New York and Paris, who embark on an ambitious gambit to save their storied institutions: swapping their most talented stars.

Just because the initial order was for 2 seasons does not mean they've actually filmed Season 2.
Most likely that shoot had just started or was going to start soon.

This show was on my watch list. I'm glad that I only saw one episode, and didn't get too involved. Although, I heard that the show was quite good. One season?

Wow Brenda you have seen the contracts and know what they don’t allow for revocation of second season based on ratings, as most contracts say. Cool. Amazon must be hurting if they can hire lawyers to setup a contract to allow them to.

I'm surprised this show didn't get more viewers. It was a very funny show, and well written. I wish they would at least air the second season they had already agreed to
