The comedic whodunnit will not return.
July 2, 2025
It is being reported that The Residence has been cancelled by Netflix after one season. The news comes three months after the Shondaland whodunnit series released its freshman run. Conceived as an anthology series, any new seasons would have focused on a new murder mystery each time.
Inspired by the book of the same name by Kate Andersen Brower, the show stars Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, a consulting detective for the Metropolitan Police Department known for her relentless pursuit of truth and sharp eye for human behavior. She partners with Special Agent Edwin Park of the FBI during a high-stakes State Dinner at the White House. While Park is skeptical about Cupp's unconventional methods, their dynamic is as intriguing as the mystery they seek to unravel.

Absolutely gutted this is cancelled. Why would you cancel such a clever well acted thought out show. Ridiculous. But don’t worry Love Island and The Bachelor are still going strong.

Loved it but the ending was not very clever and entirely unsatisfying.

its sad that Julian McMahon, who played the Aussie Prime Minister passed away a couple of days ago.

I liked this show, but 1 season was enough.
The reveal was pretty dumb anyway. I think they just picked who they thought would be most unlikely and shoehorned it in

I watched 12 mins of it and deleted it off my list of shows to watch. It was just horrific to watch.

Enjoyable, but just seemed too long, fewer episodes might have made it better.
