Apple TV+ announced today that Murderbot has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes the day before the comedic thriller wraps its 10-episode freshman run. Since its debut, the show has garnered high praise from critics and viewers alike.
"We're so grateful for the response that 'Murderbot' has received, and delighted that we're getting to go back to Martha Wells' world to work with Alexander, Apple, CBS Studios and the rest of the team," said creators and executive producers Chris and Paul Weitz.
"Chris, Paul, Alexander and the entire 'Murderbot' team have delivered a brilliantly original, addictive, witty and vibrant adaptation that has captured the imagination of audiences everywhere," said Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+. "We can't wait to unveil what's next for Murderbot and, of course, 'Sanctuary Moon' in season two."
Based on Wells' bestselling book series of the same name, the show follows a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.

.. after the finale... it's a "nothing" show. I'm sure I'll watch season 2 but expectations are it'll be rather drab as well.

Absolutely love the books. The show is fine. Not great but good enough to make me look forward to a 2nd season.

Haven't watched the season finale yet.. but... meh... Its not a bad show by any means... but it does kind of meander without ever really having impact. I mean the ONLY real punch was the headshot. Perhaps the finale wraps it up well. It's been an okay watch, but hasn't left me anxiously awaiting the next episode.
