No Season 2 for the crime drama.
July 21, 2025
It is being reported that Happy Face has been cancelled by Paramount+ after one season. The crime drama from Robert and Michelle King debuted on the streaming service in March with an eight-episode run that ultimately garnered mixed reviews.
Inspired by the true-life story of Melissa G. Moore, the series follows Melissa Reed, who at the age of 15, learned that she was daughter of the prolific serial killer known as Happy Face. After decades of no contact, he forces his way back into his Melissa's life, and she must now find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed. In the process, she faces a reckoning of her own identity.

Good show. It wrapped up the original story so there really is no need for a second season. The first season was definitely worth watching.

I remember seeing a trailer for this and confusing the title with another cancelled show called Happy! that aired on Syfy.
Rest in peace.
