TNT announced today that Season 2 of The Librarians: The Next Chapter will premiere in 2026. Coming ahead of next Monday's freshman finale, the news is not a renewal - the show debuted with a two-season order under its belt - but it does give fans a timeline for its return.
The series premiered on May 25 for a 12-episode run, and it quickly became the #1 new cable original drama season premiere of 2025. In total it has reached nearly 13 million viewers to date.
A spinoff of the acclaimed original television and film franchise, 'The Next Chapter' follows Vikram Chamberlain, a "Librarian" from the past who time traveled from 1847 and finds himself stuck in the present. When Vikram returns to his castle in Belgrade, Serbia and discovers that it is now a museum, he inadvertently releases magic across the continent. With help from a new team of eclectic heroes, including a savant in world history, a scientific genius, and a highly skilled Guardian, Vikram has only six months to clean up the mess he made.

I love the Librarians so much and this was fun, different and I looked forward to each show. I would like to see Charlie develop some as she seems too formal and not much fun. I can’t wait for season two and look forward to some of the original characters to show up. Hopefully Ezekiel Jones as he was my favorite!

This season was hit or miss. The characters were just OK in the sense that none of them were particularly annoying. It really depended on the stories. Some of the stories were engaging. But the truth is that any Dean Devlin series like "The Librarians", "Leverage" and "The Ark" is kind of bland.
I wish reviewers would get off the "the #1 new cable original drama season premiere of 2025" PR statements. That means nothing today. One, there are hardly any new cable shows so it's not like there's a lot of competition. Two, "In total it has reached nearly 13 million viewers to date" is a joke. Back in the day a single so-so episode of "Breaking Bad" got well into 20+ million viewers and the series would have had hundreds of millions total for a season.

I never understood why the great original series was axed ten years ago? . Must check this out although it has new characters. .

Three flat characters. One stand out because he's out of time and this is supposed to be the successor to a full team of quirky, bubbly and arrogant predecessors. Please!

i might have to not watch season two.
however i really need to know something. the guardian. why does she constantly walk like her right leg is 2 inches shorter than the rest of her kick ass self?

im shocked this got picked up for another season... I loved the original series.. was hoping this would be at least half as good.. but man is the acting and story lines horrible.. if this is the next chapter they need to end the book now.. my .02
