The upcoming comedy lands an early pickup.
September 3, 2025
Peacock announced today that The Paper has been renewed for a second season. The news comes just one day before the comedy releases its 10-episode freshman run on the streaming service.
Set in the same universe as 'The Office,' the series utilizes the same documentary style that immortalized Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch to focus on a new subject - a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher desperately trying to revive it.

This show is terrible. It’s not the Office. Don’t bother.

Damn everyone is so mad about something that’s not a big deal

.. when you upset morons.. by pointing out they are being moronic.. they start trolling... faking your username.. and trying to appear self-deprecating... which, again, is more moronic behavior.

Wow, I must have popped in here from an alternate reality because I swear I watched this show years ago. I even remember Oscar being in it. I might need to see a Dr.!!!

I hate when they do that. Infact, it makes me NOT want to watch the show. You got renewed for season 2. Clearly, you don't need my viewing number.

Looks like another show who is suppose to be comedy where we dont laugh once. It's another The office where they talk to the camera.

I love The office but this show looks like pure garbage, didn't laugh once during that awful trailer so I won't be watching.

Renewed before it premieres? Really?
I'm not going to watch with a studio se self assured. Besides the original was a horrible depiction of Scranton. As someone from Scranton, they got it totally wrong.

I agree. They renew a show before the premiere.... no one is going to watch this because you can't have The Office and say "that's what she said" nowadays. They will cancel this before they start filming season 2. Guaranteed.
