Peacock announced today that The Paper has been renewed for a second season. The news comes just one day before the comedy releases its 10-episode freshman run on the streaming service.
Set in the same universe as 'The Office,' the series utilizes the same documentary style that immortalized Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch to focus on a new subject - a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher desperately trying to revive it.

wow! already renewed 24 hours before it season 1 has even been released. I have a feeling they might cancel it soon. just follows what the major networks do these days. Some new tv show they claim is #1 then all of a sudden its cancelled due to "low ratings". Amazing how a show they say is so amazing then gets a the rubber stamp excuses of "low ratings" to justify its cancellation.

.. just means they shot 20 episodes and have 20 episodes already in the can, ready for air. Rather than airing all 20 as a single season, they are breaking it up into 2 seasons. So, not so much "renewed" as "broken in half".
