Starz has acquired the second season of The Couple Next Door. The network aired the first season of the British psychological thriller earlier this year. Fans won't have to wait long for Season 2, as a premiere date of September 19 has already been set.
"This seductive series instantly struck a chord with women, with particularly strong appeal for our large, engaged base of Outlander viewers," said Alison Hoffman, President, STARZ Networks. "High-performing acquisitions like The Couple Next Door play a key role in STARZ's continued success, expanding our distinctive slate of premium programming for adult audiences."
The first season followed a couple who move into an upscale neighborhood with hopes of starting a family, and soon become friends with the couple next door. Before long, these two couples find themselves getting increasingly closer to each other, leading to one fateful night where they become sexually entangled in a way that changes their lives forever.
Season 2 features a new cast, and will follow a brilliant heart surgeon and her consultant anesthetist husband, who become entangled with their mysterious new colleague and an old flame. It soon becomes clear that giving in to their desires could have deadly consequences.

I tried watching because I love the cast, but it wasn’t that great. I’m surprised it was renewed, but that’s Starz for you. I do like the new Outlander spinoff.

@lunchmeat Dave... I actually watched it... was never so happy when it ended - I figured with the way it ended, we wouldn't have to worry about a 2nd season! Guess I was wrong?! LOL
My guess is that the only reason they renewed it was because it probably is a low cost show... it certainly can not be because of demand! Starz used to have really good programs... not sure who would pay to subscribe these days other than the Outlander Fans maybe...

Reviews for season one were so terrible, I mean absolutely abysmal.. that I never bothered watching this. It wouldn't be the first time Starz keeps a terrible show running.. I mean, they can't seem to let Spartacus die after, what... 20 years?
