'Ballard' Renewed By Prime Video

The detective drama will return for a second season.

Prime Video announced today that Ballard has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes three months after the detective drama released its freshman run to high praise from both critics and viewers.

"The audience response to Ballard has been phenomenal, resonating with audiences worldwide thanks to its gripping storytelling and outstanding performances from Maggie Q and the entire cast. We can't wait for fans to experience everything Season Two has in store."

A spinoff of 'Bosch,' the series follows Detective Renée Ballard, who leads the LAPD's new and underfunded cold case division, tackling the city's long-forgotten crimes with empathy and determination. As she peels back layers of crimes spanning decades, including a serial killer's string of murders and a murdered John Doe, Renée soon uncovers a dangerous conspiracy within the department. With the help of her volunteer team and retired detective Harry Bosch, Detective Ballard navigates personal trauma, professional challenges, and life-threatening dangers to expose the truth.
