No Season 2 for the spy thriller.
October 10, 2025
It is being reported by Deadline that Prime Video has cancelled Butterfly after one season. The news comes two months after the spy drama released its six-episode freshman run.
Based on the BOOM! Studios' graphic novel series created by Arash Amel, the show follows a highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea. His life is turned upside down when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by a deadly, sociopathic agent assigned to kill him, and Caddis, the sinister spy organization she works for.

I was just about to start watching this and came in to check it's status and had to google if it ended on a cliffhanger and it apparently does, a major one, so that's frustrating

That’s too bad! I really enjoyed this show! Lots of action and I liked the acting.

I wanted to watch this one. Anyone can tell us if it ended with a cliffhanger? If it ends with a conclusion, I'm still going to check it out. Won't bother if it's not wrapped up.

Probably wise.. watched the premier.. and meant to watch more.. but never got back to it.. that's how un-engaging it was.

Does the show end with a conclusion???

I enjoyed this. Good action and suspense, but like Bill says, you really have to search Amazon to find some series. I found this purely by accident, same as Countdown, which, again, I enjoyed.

Definitely seems like something for a movie. Not enough of a story for a TV show that's gonna take multiple seasons on for years to wrap up.

I never even hear of half of the shows that Amazon has, until after they're cancelled.

So sorry. I, sort of, liked the series; at least its potential, and cast.
