The Scott Speedman drama will return for Season 2.

ABC announced today that R.J. Decker has been picked up for a second season. The news comes less than two weeks after the drama wrapped its 9-episode freshman run. The renewal is the network's final scripted series pickup for the 2026-2027 television season.
Inspired by the novel "Double Whammy" by Carl Hiaasen, the series stars Scott Speedman as the titular disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con who is starting fresh as a private investigator in the crime-filled world of South Florida. The job finds him tackling cases ranging from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife, and a shadowy new benefactor - a woman from his past who could be his greatest ally... or his one-way ticket back to prison.

Good show. Only sad thing is we had to see Batista die twice in less than a year. Once on Dexter, and once on Decker.

Great!!!! I love this show! Love the characters! At first I didn't like Emi after what she did to Decker, but then they showed how bad her father is, and now I like her.

It took me a couple of episodes to like the characters but this series is very enjoyable. It's kind of a low-rent Magnum PI, not in production values but in the types of people. Instead of being in the Navy, Decker and his cronies spent time in the Florida state prison system (Decker of course was innocent). Despite this, everybody is good-natured and it's light viewing suitable at the end of a long day.

I’m so happy, I think it’s a fun and entertaining show. It does take a few episodes to get into it. Love the characters. I’m so happy it was renewed, everything I like gets cancelled

I disagree! I am getting tired of the intense police dramas that flood our networks. When I come home from work, I want to zone out and watch a show that I really don't have to pay attention to all that much. This is perfect--it's quirky and on the lighter side even though it's about murder. This is quickly becoming my new favorite show to watch.

Garbage show garbage cast how they keep this stuff on is beyond me.
