The 'Yellowstone' spinoff will return for a second season.

Paramount+ announced today that Dutton Ranch has been renewed for Season 2. It's an early pickup for the drama, which has two episodes remaining in its 9-episode freshman run. The news comes as no surprise, as the show had the biggest launch of an original series in the streamer's history.
"Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world," said Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+. "We're also incredibly grateful to our partners, including the teams at Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, for bringing this new series to life with such grit, heart and authenticity."

A spinoff of 'Yellowstone,' the series follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler fighting to build a future together - far from the ghosts of Yellowstone. What infuriates me is that they changed too many things about Beth's personality. And Carter also. And they didn't have to destroy the OG Ranch as an excuse to move to Texas. And I'm not a fan of the finale devolving the show into the same old plotline about drugs and drug lords and teenage pregnancy. But I'll watch a season 2, I guess.

It's a colossal bore. Bring on a bunch of new characters who beat the crap out of each other. Makes it hard to follow the story. Is there even a story?

I liked this show up until they gave it a season order. Yellowstone was fine but they watered the franchise down so much everything is either a clone, and bad at that, or just in the same universe but in no way connected. People complain about Star Trek because it went on to long to hold the original premises but that took half a century. Paramount speed run Yellowstone in to the ground in half a decade.

It is no Yellowstone that is true, but it is a better watch then most crap on network TV. I will watch, and then should add a few episodes to the next season.

It's nothing even close to Yellowstone. Ridiculous storytelling... who hides a body they had NO PART in killing? Why not report the body and let the police handle your "rival"? But noooooooo.. you and your wife go and work for the rival.... And celebrate 190 years.. get blackmailed by your "bad guy" son... and have a stroke all in the same night.. ridiculous.
There's NO POINT to all the conflict. It's a soap.
