Disney+ has announced that Alice and Steve will be coming back for Season 2. The news comes less than three months after the British comedy released its 6-episode freshman run on Hulu in the US.
"I am so thrilled that 'Alice and Steve' has been given a second season," said creator Sophie Goodhart. "No one will be prepared for what happens next, especially not Alice and Steve."
"It's been fantastic to see the rapturous reactions to 'Alice and Steve' from viewers at home," said Lee Mason, VP, Scripted, Disney+ EMEA. "Sophie has created a distinctive and original comedy, striking a chord and sparking debate with audiences across the country. I'm excited to see what mayhem Sophie and Clerkenwell have in store for our titular characters after that delicious cliffhanger - but we can expect more laughs, betrayal, and bad decisions in season two."
The series follows Alice, who is devastated when her best friend Steve starts dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy. Fearing she's going to lose her best friend and her daughter in one fell swoop, Alice tries everything she can to end the relationship. Unfortunately for her, Steve's more than ready for the attack, and what begins as a perfect friendship, devolves into an all-out feud. Will Steve and Izzy make a relationship work? Amongst all the questions hanging in the balance, one thing is certain; their lives will never be the same again.
