Prime Video announced today that its new comedy Barbershop will premiere on February 10, 2027 with all eight episodes releasing at once. The show is inspired by the film franchise of the same name.
Jermaine Fowler stars as Travis “Trav” Walker, who returns to Chicago hoping to honor his grandfather's legacy at the iconic Calvin's barbershop. But the shop has changed, and so has the city. As Trav struggles to find his place among a new crew of barbers and loyal customers, Calvin's remains what it has always been, a place for sharp fades, sharp opinions, and a community that always has something to say.
The franchise debuted in 2002 with the release of 'Barbershop,' which was followed by 'Barbershop 2: Back in Business' in 2004 and 'Beauty Shop' in 2005. Over 10 years passed before 'Barbershop: The Next Cut' was released in 2016. There was also previous attempt at a TV series on Showtime in 2005, but it only lasted one season.
