My point is "a quality show with good writing is about the characters" and not so much about the show itself...and although season one went down one path, season two went a completely direction, yet what made this TV drama a hit is the two main characters, and it's all about how they handle situations, and how they figure things out. In the end, it's very entertaining, and filmed perfectly for a crime drama. TNT done got it right!!

Season 1 was terrific, sophisticated, with great acting by James Cromwell, and some great looking performers in the software company...Season 2 was a disaster -- the topic of a mass murder shooting on a school bus was disgusting and revolting and should never have been shown given the terrorist environment. Then the series wasn't even about that but rather the lady detective's drunken brother and a bunch of stereotyped drug dealers(a copycat of HBO's the Wire which was 1000X better). I can't believe TNT renewed this boring show with the two detectives mostly contemplating their psychological problems. I will forget Season 3

Thanks, Justin G. I'll see if I can locate that show!

I really didn't care for season 2 at all, but I thoroughly enjoyed season 1. If you like Taye Diggs, Chan, try to find the show "Day Break". It was a better show, and although it only lasted a season, it's a good watch.

I'm pleasantly surprised as well. I think it's a pretty good show . . . And I can watch Taye Diggs all day long!

It's about time that the network got this right. Murder in the first degree is a good show compare to some of the junk that on TV. I'm sure I'm not the only one glad to see its coming back

Well that was a pleasant surprise; I didn't expect this show to be renewed. I really enjoyed season one. Enjoyed season two but didn't think it was as good as the first season. But, I still enjoyed it and I am glad they're giving it another go.
