Prospects for another season of the superhero drama don't look good.
March 14, 2011
Fans of "No Ordinary Family" should probably prepare themselves for the fact that next month's season closer will also be its series finale. It's been a tough run for the freshman ABC drama since it debuted last September. Being slotted in Tuesday nights against some pretty steep competition, the show has always struggled to find a wide audience. And while there is no official word from ABC on the superhero series' future, all signs point to cancellation for the show.
Let's first have a look at the ratings. The show premiered decently enough with a 3.2 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, but quickly dropped off over the course of the season to a point where its most recent episode earned a 1.2 - far less than half of what it debuted with. That rating alone would be enough to limit the show's chances for renewal.

Then late last month, news broke that ABC had trimmed the number of episodes for the show's first season by two.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the series' two lead stars have recently signed on to new fall pilot shows on another network. Michael Chiklis has booked a role on a new CBS comedy pilot called "Vince Uncensored", while co-star Julie Benz has joined an untitled CBS supernatural medical drama. In both cases the stars' new projects are in second position to No Ordinary Family, meaning the superhero drama has priority should it be renewed. It should be noted, however, that stars of returning shows don't typically start booking other projects.
We likely won't know No Ordinary Family's fate until May, but as it stands now the show likely will not return when the Fall season starts.

What's the matter ABC, was the show too clean and wholesome for today's sex starved public? Yes, we all know that sex sells, but a decent interesting program such as this stands tall on it's own. We feel the writers did a great job with the story lines and kept you wanting more! Our house has three males in it ages 56,45 and 17. All three of us our totally disappointed.

This is just rubbish, cancelling a great show like "No ordinary family" aint right, I love the show and am sure millions around the worlds did to. Family want to worked together as one, how perfect to have a show teach them to do that better than this. Dudes, rethink you option men, forget ratings, make future.

What the hell. WE only aired episode 20 last night in South Africa and now i hear that was the end. How do these idiots at ABC calculate the ratings? Do they go into peoples homes and see what they are viewing? I loved the show. You guys just messed up my wednesday ?%$#&*

I only started watching No ordinary family because I love Julie Benz, "Darla" from a Shouldn't have been cancelled "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" to A No way in hell should it have been cancelled "Angel".
But after the first episode I was hooked, it wasn't just her it was every cast member drew you in. I am so tired of getting hooked on great shows that are cancelled just because the powers that be in snap there arrogant little fingers. We support these shows shouldn't we the ordinary people have some sort of say?

I really enjoyed the show "no Ordinary Family"! Its good stuff and with the right time slot and a little more of a chance, I believe it's a winner! I Enjoy things like Star Trek, Heroes, and other adventuresome shows. It's too bad the shows I like are going to the wayside.
