CBS has axed the freshman comedy after 13 episodes.
May 15, 2011
CBS has canceled new comedy Mad Love after its first season on the air. Also canceled today by the network were $#*! My Dad Says and The Defenders.
Mad Love premiered as a mid-season replacement in February and over its first 12 episodes has averaged about a 2.3 in the adults 18-49 demographic. While not terrible numbers, they were obviously not quite high enough for the network to consider bringing it back.
The show's series finale is scheduled to air tomorrow night at 8:30pm ET/PT.

Yes, lots of people DVR the shows, but I guess you don't know that TiVo etc also records what shows people are recording and reports that info back. That's how they get the info so they can announce what shows were the "most-TiVo'd" that week. That info is factored into the ratings, too.

If you boycott all CBS shows, then their ratings will drop, thereby leading to more cancellations and what will you do then? You can't boycott them more if you're already cutting all CBS shows off your viewing list.
Writing a letter (not texting or e-mailing them) to CBS would be marginally more effective, but the problem is that the show didn't get enough viewers. CBS did their part by broadcasting it. They can't go into homes and force people to watch a show.
I liked "Mad Love", too, but lots of good shows have been cancelled -- as well as crappy ones kept on the air.

I agree, Silver. It was a really funny show that deserved a second season. The whole cast was hilarious, especially Judy Greer and Tyler Labine.
