Netflix announced today that The Diplomat has been renewed for a fifth season. The news comes two weeks after the acclaimed political drama released Season 4, which garnered strong viewership and reached #3 on the streamer's Global Top 10 list in its second week.

The show stars Keri Russell as Kate Wyler, the new US Ambassador to the United Kingdom. With war brewing on one continent and erupting on another, Kate must diffuse international crises, forge strategic alliances in London, and adjust to her new role in the spotlight - all while trying to survive her marriage to a fellow career diplomat and political star.
