One episode of the medical drama will go unaired.
August 24, 2011
ABC has announced that the first-season finale of Combat Hospital has been moved up one week from September 13 to September 6. What this means for its fans is that one episode of the freshman medical drama will go unaired on the network.
The move also doesn't bode well for the future of the show - on US shores at least. Combat Hospital is a Canadian-produced series that also airs on Global Television in Canada. If ABC opts not to move forward with a second season of the show, it is quite possible that Global will pick it up.
A similar situation happened with drama The Listener, which NBC originally started airing for a Summer run in 2009, only to pull it from the schedule after a handful of episodes. The series continued on Canadian airwaves and was recently renewed for a third season.
As it stands, the future of Combat Hospital is unknown at this time, but ABC's decision to leave an episode of its first season on the shelf puts chances of a second one in serious doubt.

Watched this show from the beginning and got hooked. Hope its not cancelled because it had some interesting story lines and gave us a glimpse into the reality of Afghanistan. Nice to see a Canadian element in a show as well.

My husband and I only watch a very few shows consistently and Combat Hospital is one of them. We looked forward to it every week. It has interesting characters, good scripts and is just an overall enjoyable show. We hope it is not cancelled and is just on hiatus until next season.

Really hope the buzz about the pulled episode isn't an omen for cancellation of Combat Hospital. Sure don't want the norm to happen, if I like a show it gets cancelled...fingers are crossed ABC understands that a lot of folks out there aren't into constant "reality" programming.

Hate to this show cancelled. I really enjoyed. Never fails, something important for the times gets cancelled. Go figure.

Really liked the realism of Combat Hospital. It also dealt with sensitive cultural issues which are often overlooked. RENEW!!"

I'm a military EM doc who has been over there. And relished in an iced coffee on the boardwalk, too. Loved, loved this show. It hit home with me and was our family 'therapy' session. Really hope it will continue to air!!

We are also a military family and LOVED this show. It really hit home and reminded me of when my husband was serving over in Afghanistan. Really hoping this show returns!

I truly enjoyed this show. Not only is Elias Koteras an awesome actor, but the show actually brought back some of the humanity to being a soldier. To many times have I seen shows that portray soldiers as unthinking, adrenaline junkies and violent automatons.
