ABC has picked up the full season of its new fairy tale drama.
November 3, 2011
After an impressive start, Once Upon a Time has earned a full season pick-up from ABC. The 'back nine' order will increase the fairy tale drama's first season to 22 episodes from its original 13.
The series, which follows fairy tale characters trapped by a spell in the real world, has only aired two episodes of its freshman season so far. However impressive feedback from critics and viewers, combined with solid ratings in its 8:00pm Sunday time slot, were obviously enough for the network to have confidence in the show's future.
ABC also ordered full seasons of Last Man Standing and Happy Endings today. New drama Pan Am received an order for additional scripts but fell short of a full-season pick-up - not a good sign for the airline drama.

I love this show. I love the love and hate relationships. Any one saying they hate this show is not very deep. We all have different taste in shows. I do not care for the River. Keep it on .

I love this show, but I personally hope that this show will give an ending before it's cancelled... I hate to watch an interesting show got cancelled in the middle of the story. Remember Tru Calling?

Its funny how ABC shows like Ugly Betty and Once Upon a Time are considered family television...

We think this is a show that gives you some family time, like the old days when we told our kids the stories. We all know the fairytales and this one gives them a nice twist! We watch the show with our teenage kids, and we all enjoy this one very much!

Well, I can't think of anyone that could not "get into" this series. It is very well done, imaginative and surely brings back all the childhood images that I think we all grew up with - both boys and girls!. Truly hope that they continue with its success and do not abruptbly cancel this show without warning or conclusion as so many networks have done in the past! (I.E., Cane)

I'm thrilled at the season extension. This show is probably the most imaginative new offering that stands apart from the so-so sitcoms and ridiculous realities. Finally, a show with some entertainment, intriguing story lines, characters we can connect with, even those we love to hate! From the writes of LOST, we are in for a spectacular story telling that can only get better from show to show, as we learn more and more about the players. A show that I just cant wait to see what happens...! This is NOTHING like fairy tales you knew growing up, but a complete retelling of not only those classic fairy tales like snow white and Cinderella (where did we ever read snow white and prince charming attending Cinderella's wedding?) but also of how our world embodies the spirit of those people, torn from their fairy tale world, and placed into our reality, thanks to the evil queen...who happens to be the mayor of the town they are now all stuck in.
