The drama's final episode will air this May.
February 6, 2018
ABC made it official today: Once Upon a Time is coming to an end after its current seventh season. The long-running fairy tale drama will be signing off after 155 episodes, which is an impressive feat for a serialized drama by today's standards.
The move to end the series does not come as a complete surprise, as the show underwent some significant retooling ahead of Season 7, including creative and casting changes as well as move to Fridays from its long-held Sunday night time slot. Considering the show's time on the air, the writing appeared to be on the wall for a conclusion in the near future.
Fans can look forward to Once Upon a Time's final stretch of episodes to return on March 2, with the series finale expected to air in May.

This series entertained me for many hours. Stuck with you all the way, through the good and the bad episodes/seasons. Came back for more. Thanks for the endless hours of entertainment.

IMO, season 7 was slow to start, started to pick up steam, and proved to be one of the better seasons by the end. The major twists and turns were unexpected (unlike other seasons), and really left me wanting more. If you didn’t give this final season a chance because of the “retooling”, then I think you should give it a chance. You are totally rewarded by the end.

Series 7 is just garbage and does not make any sense.

This is unfortunate. the current season was a bit of a slow stretch but once it got going it really got going and was excited to see some of the surprises that rolled out. especially some of the flips with who you expected were the villains and turned out to not be.

I'm not really surprised- the show has been in slow decline the last several seasons and the 'retooling' just killed it for me. I'll miss seeing some of the actors on screen and hope they find new opportunities soon.

@Nick - I actually just saw Jerry Van Dyke in "My Mother the Car" when they aired their Christmas episode. I couldn't resist checking it out as it is the butt of more TV jokes than any other show. This has nothing to do with OUAT, but imagine if Jerry had taken the role of Gilligan instead...

(It was just as bad as it sounds!)

I love this show and look forward to watching it every week. I'm very disappointed that it is being cancelled and hope the network will change its mind.

They need to keep this show among other good shows that need to be brought back. Also, get rid of reality tv shows cuz I mean who cares about what the Kardashian’s are up to or other reality tv shows. That’s why all these good shows are getting cancelled. It’s all because of that reality tv garbage...

The first season was sharp and creative. In hindsight, I'd give it a 90%. However, I'd say it lost 10% with each following season and we walked away when it crossed the pass-fail mark. Roughly when classic fairy tales took a back seat to Disney cartoons.

If you like Last man standing then season 7 probably won't make sense to you. Of course if you like Last man standing then you probably have trouble with "Goodnight Moon."
