Production has been shut down on the struggling new cop drama.
November 16, 2011
NBC has finally pulled the plug on its low-rated freshman drama Prime Suspect. The series has struggled to find an audience since premiering in September, and after it was left off the network's midseason schedule earlier this week, the writing was on the wall. Word is now that production has now been shut down completely.
NBC did its best to boost Prime Suspect's viewership, airing a large amount of promo spots for the show and even airing repeats in the prime time slot of cancelled series The Playboy Club. Ratings, however, did not improve.
It is being reported that all 13 episodes that were produced will air, although it is not known if NBC will keep the show in its current Thursday night time slot. Six new episodes remain in Prime Suspect's first and final season.

I am so disappointed ... Prime Suspect is one of a few shows that actually make you think. I agree with a lot of the postings here ... REALLY cancel this show and leave on all the literally stupid reality shows.

NBC is terrible hopefully prime suspect will go the route of southland and get picked up by a cable channel really nothing left of value on conventional tv CBS at least gives shows a chance

Whoever makes these decisions is clearly an ah!!!....I agree with several of these comments....If thinking is required for a TV show...you'll lose most of the country....They what mindless reality show dribble to feed their boring miscreantic lives....If it was starring a MAN instead of a WOMAN.....they wouldn't have pulled the plug so fast!!!

The average person in the USA, doesn't like shows that you actually have to think about. They want their crap reality TV, mindless garbage.

What a shame as this was a solid show. Mario Bello
was fantastic and so were the other cops. I Can't
believe people still would rather watch CSI over and
over again.....Thank god for the internet.

I thought this show was great! It had its humor and drama. I am like the others that have commented...take off the dumb shows and keep this one!

What a shame. Really loved this show. These networks just refuse to give a show a chance to catch on. Most of the quality shows are now on AMC and HBO. Soon there won't be anything worth watching on networks.

Another sign of the stupidity of NBC. When they have a good show, they cancel it. NBC stands for No Brain concepts. NBC's paplum of shows is BS. When NBC has a good show like this one they can not wait to cancel it. NBC show change their name and logo to: No Good Shows..NGC.

Disappointed at the cancellation...I liked Jane's style But I believe there are so many detective shows on the air that people have are holding on the familiar. Mia deserves another chance some where...What about replace that gal on the Mentalist (with the bangs) She is just the wrong cast..in my opinion...work on that any one who has a grip on the system.
