The Ashley Judd drama will not be back next season.
May 11, 2012
ABC has cancelled Missing, the Ashley Judd drama about a mother whose son mysteriously disappears. The show premiered as a mid-season replacement back in March but stumbled out of the gate, failing to amass a substantial weekly viewership.
It has so far aired nine of its 10 ordered episodes, with the series finale set for May 17, 2012.

ABC is getting a rep of not keeping shows more than a season or 2 so of course they're not gonna get ratings right off. Who wants to start watching a show they think won't continue the next season? No one does!! They're ginna have to earn viewers back. Missing was a wonderful show. It had the suspense people love & a great cast. I have really wondered where ABC's head has been the past couple years because it hasnt been in the game of tv. It's really sad they've cancelled 2 shows that I've seen & heard people say how much they love the shows. Come on ABC get your head out of your a$$.

It seems that every time you get hooked on a show on abc they yank it right from underneath the audiences nose! it is very sad that abc doesn`t realize that they have the biggest hit in crime drama tv !

I loved Missing and am very disappointed with ABC for cancelling it. It was one of the few shows that my 15 year old son and 13 year old daughter would actually sit down and watch with me. It seems like every time we get hooked on a new ABC show, they cancel it. Very disappointing.

My understanding is that Missing was only intended to be a 10 episode series. Ashley Judd was not interested in going longer. So it's not really being canceled, it's just running its course.

I beleive they intended to cancel the show some time ago. They were advertising Greys Anatomy and Scandal together and not even mentioning Missing which was on the same network before these two shows. I also beleive it probably cost a lot of money to make the show with all the locations. They didn't give it a chance to gain viewers...didn't even advertise or promote the program. One other thing it would have been hard to keep the story going if her son were ever found. i suppose that is how the series will end. I'm really sorry to see it to. I loved the show!!!!

I can't believe that two and half men is returning and they cancel a show like Missing. I know it's a different network but those so called comedy are just plan awful. I loved Missing.

DM, why not stick with english? It's haphazardly. Angelina Jolie may make millions but I've only seen a handful of her movies. They're terrible and I have no interest in seeing someone who's 110 lbs soaking wet do action scenes especially when she's such a bad actress. The same goes with Maggie who plays Nikita. She's young and pretty but in no way believable in action sequences.
Viewers are ageist much like the rest of the population and would rather focus on Ashley's puffy cheeks rather than the show's content which is what matters. The show was so suspenseful with a solid cast and great cinematography.
Fox's Touch's ratings aren't anything to write home about but they renewed it. They're giving it time to grow a wider audience. It is pathetic that ABC won't with Missing. Missing is a better show than Touch. If you think Missing is sentimental, don't even attempt to watch Touch. It's like a one hour long Hallmark commercial.
