The Whitney Cummings comedy will return in the 2012-2013 season.

NBC has renewed freshman comedy Whitney for a second season. The series premiered last September and pulled in modest ratings over the course of its 22 episode run. Not receiving such good news today was its time slot companion laugher Are You There, Chelsea? It was cancelled earlier today.
To compare the ratings differences between the two - which obviously factored into today's news: Whitney averaged a 1.7 in the adults 18-49 demographic while Chelsea averaged a lower 1.4. Not a huge difference, but seeing as Whitney was already considered on-the-bubble for renewal, anything lower wouldn't stand much of a chance at coming back.
There is no word on the number of episodes ordered for Season 2 of Whitney, nor is a return date known at this time.

I watched this show since the begin. The first season was good but I feel like the second is dragging very badly. I am so done with this show.

This show rocks...i cant wait till another seoson..and yes there better be another season...nbc can put crappy sitcoms on and they get good ratings...i dont get it...you need to fix your rating machine..cause its broke...this is one of the best shows on TV

The best sitcom on television!! You guys don't have a clue about what talent is. I'm glad it was renewed. Whitney is funny, funny, funny!!!!!

This show is very funny and I'm so happy it got renewed. I'm also happy that Chelsea show got canceled because it was a piece of crap with writing that was not funny at all!!

This is one of the worst shows on tv today, and i'm in the 18-49 group. She is a worthless actress.
