ABC Family has pulled the plug on the freshman drama.

Jane by Design will not be returning for a second season. ABC Family has decided not to renew the freshman drama after a low-rated first season of 18 episodes.
Over the course of its run, Jane by Design averaged roughly 1.3 million viewers per episode. The series followed a teenager who lands a dream job at a New York fashion house.

VERY disapointed!! This show was a breath of fresh air amid all the detective shows and silly sitcoms. I'm really going to miss this.

This is the reason a lot of people quit watching network TV, too.(Plus the fact they only want to do reality tv shows that don't cost them much to make.) It's hard to start watching a new series and get into it to only see it cancelled before it even gets started good, besides it wasn't like only 2 or 3 people were the only ones watching it! I thought it was a really cute show and watched it every week. When there is not an ending, you don't even want to buy the series, because you are still just left hanging!!!

iT SUCKS! STOP CANCELLING A SHOW WITHOUT AND END. I'M SICK OF ALL NEW SERIES THAT CANCELLED WITHOUT A GOOD ENDING. ALL SHOW JUST GET CUT AND LEAVE VIEWER JUST HANGING AND THINKING WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPEN NEXT.

I agree. Once you start watching a show then it disappears. Why not leave it on and let it find its base?

I really like this show. I even got by Best friend into it. My shows keep getting cxl. ugh!!!!

The show was fun to watch with my daughter. We both enjoyed it I wish they wouldn't cancel it. It's hard to start watching anything because it doesn't stay around. If a show cancels why can't they just make a couple more to atleast end it.

I really liked this show. I was hoping for a 2nd season but unfortunately they canceled it. Sucks getting invested in a show only for them to cancel it.
