The military drama will not continue past its initial order.
November 16, 2012
ABC has cancelled freshman series Last Resort. The military drama will still air all 13 episodes of its original order but will not continue past that.
Since debuting in late September, Last Resort was hailed by many critics as one of the strongest new dramas of the 2012-2013 season, but ratings for the show failed to match up to its critical praise. This past Thursday's episode was its lowest-rated to-date, likely sealing its fate.

I'm a big fan of most military themed TV and motion-pictures, however, "Last Resort" is getting too drawn out, too campy in some respects and other factors that deem it likely to be cancelled after this season. I really think they need to end this series.

After 23 years in the Navy I cannot believe some of the c**p I saw on this show. No wonder it was cancelled!

why is tv only "successful" if it is the same drivel shown over and over again on every other channel? don't usually watch the trash on regular tv anymore but happened to be sitting in the room when someone else was watching and was hooked from the beginning. knew it would not last because it was not a formula. this is why the old channels are failing - unwilling to step out of their ruts. no loss to us who don't watch them anymore (except for the occasional tease - like "last resort".) like a brief, illicit love affair - knew it would be over before it got good.

Are you crazy????. Your not even giving it a chance to be found. Once I informed friends and family about the show they all loved it.

Last Resort was the only show on the Alphabet networks I enjoyed, and like any show that takes half a braincell to watch, it gets canceled... Guess the morons of America will get more garbage like Jersey Shore. The TV Show 'Ass' showing a naked gleuteus farting isn't too far off.

I did not watch this one past its Pilot episode. It had a ridiculous plot, and I just knew it would be one of those over-the-top idealistic shows. Not surprised it got cancelled. In fact, I am surprised all 13 episodes are gonna be aired.

If a network will promise me that a new series with an ongoing story line (Last Resort, The Event, Lost, Fringe, etc.) will have a finale episode resolving the story "in the can" ready to show, even if the series is cancelled, I will watch it. Otherwise, forget it. I've been disappointed too many times. Treat us like this and we will watch ONLY cable shows.

Saw the first episode and knew it wouldn't last. It is not that I didn't like the show....I just knew it would be cancelled like "The Event" and "V".

ABC needs to keep themselves in check, before canceling a good show we haven't had a drama like last resort ever. So they need to really think beforing planning on putting a show on or they need to get off the pot.

I have no idea what ABC is thinking cancelling this show. It is so good. I was hooked after the pilot and have been watching every week. ABC seems to make more bad than good decisions. I really need to learn my lesson and stop watching their shows.
