The Kiefer Sutherland drama will not return.
May 9, 2013
Fox has cancelled Touch after two seasons. The sophomore drama had been considered a bubble series for the bulk of its run, failing to draw significant numbers in the ratings.
The Touch series finale airs tomorrow night, May 10, 2013.

I love Touch and hope it gets picked up on cable or something like some other shows have, I do agree that season one WAS better than season two but I do also like where season two was going, it was delving into the more intricate details of WHAT is happening and WHY, for example, as John was saying, the REASON for Jake seeing the numbers and what they meant WAS in fact starting to be explained in season two with the reveal of Jake being one of the 36, the 36 are human spirits on another level and they communicate differently than we do, Amelia didn't seem to communicate as much through numbers as she did through telepathy, for example, and it seemed that more recently the doctor they were investigating had something more to do with patterns? It's all individual to each member of the 36, who, as it was explained, are meant to show the good in humanity

Exactly my feeling, Timmah, couldn't say better.
I would just add a little thought: why the writters do such "ad-hoc" job? Season 01 was clearly written from A-Z, while S02 was agony. It seems to me they actually did not even expect renewal beyond S01. After it was decided, they somehow patched the story and enjoyed the extra money. Is it a rule that show renewal means automatically rapidly lower quality? What did the writters strike for, in 2006-7? Should the audience also strike...?
Not only "Touch" issue, I guess.

The first season was actually pretty good but the second season is what killed the show. They changed the format and did less and less of what made the show good. It removed the concentration of the invisible strings that link us together. It used to show how we all Touch each other in some shape or form without even knowing it. Maybe if they stuck with that the show would have continued to be successful.

This show had great potential and could have been really good if it wasn't for the awful scripting which led to some awful acting from Kiefer and the other actors.

Fox, bad move. Touch is a great show. I am really going to miss it. You should cancel American idol instead. With the trash judge (NM) on there, I have no respect for the show. But, no you cancel a good show instead

Did they ever even attempt to explain how Jake could see the numbers or how the numbers fit together? It never made any sense to me. The whole thing was gobbledy-gook and Kiefer Sutherland deserved better. Glad it's gone.
