IFC announced today that it has renewed Portlandia for two more seasons, which will be the show's fourth and fifth. Each season will run for 10 half-hour episodes, with premiere dates of early 2014 for Season 4 and early 2015 for Season 5.

2 episodes into season 5 and it sucks. They've gone from short, 5 minute character-driven funny little stories to full 30 minute story lines and it's just boring. It's no longer funny, amusing, or even really engaging. They've lost their spark. Fred Armisen playing Nina for a full 30 minutes is annoying, not comical.

I know that some people may not get the humor on this show but I find it absolutely hilarious. I now want to make a trip to Portland just to see if I can catch when they are making the show and just watch the brilliance up close.

Portlandia is BRILLIANT!! Fred Armisen from Saturday Night Live totally transforms himself from grunge to bed and breakfast owners to everything in-between! The writing and acting is like nothing else out there! Different than SNL, but just as hilarious!

Great show.. and if you aren't familiar with the Pacific Northwest, this is a very good, albeit exaggerated, portrayal of the personalities found here. Funny shit.
