A&E will not be bringing back the cop drama.
August 30, 2013
A&E has cancelled The Glades after four seasons. The drama aired its now-series finale earlier this week, where it drew a season-high viewership of 3.4 million people.
The Glades ran for a total of 49 episodes since its premiere in the summer of 2010. It will be remembered as A&E's first original series that was picked up for more than one season.

Not at all surprised. This show was great the first two seasons when the character was bitter over his career ending in Chicago. Matt Passmore was great with the snarky comments and sarcastic one-liners. Once the writers started turning the show from a crime dramedy into a romcom it was all over for me. I just watched it out of habit. This last season the lead was so annoying with the golf club at the crime scenes and shoving food in his face every chance he got. And it was so formulaic: accuse the first suspect with a wild theory, arrest them at a public performance, hear their side in an interrogation room, let them go. Go visit second suspect, tell them why they did it with some wild theory, arrest them in public, etc. It sucks how it ended with not knowing who shot him, but I'm not going to miss it. Now Longmire, on the other hand...please don't take it away!

Very disappointed that this show was cancelled. Don't know if it will do any good, but I signed a petition on Change.org to bring it back.

Arrow is rated at below one on the ratings chart. How can that be renewed and Glades be canceled. Their has to be another network smart enough to pick it up and air it in the same time slot that its replacement will have. MKL

I think you made a big mistake to cancel this show. I think someone needs to rethink their decision.

I cant believe how networks are producing television dramas. There isnt a drama you can watch now without wondering if it will last. Networks are like wall street, cut throat and leave us hanging. They dont care, its all about them...

Yet another disappointment in my make believe world. What will I do. I KNOW! I am going to WRITE MY OWN ENDING! Just like I've done with all the other shows that end without ending. Hmm... Should it be a happily ever after, Carlos gets there in time to stop Ray's mom from firing the fatal blow, uniforms rush her, cuff her and she gives up Ray both spending life in prison (are there special circumstances in Florida?) Jim is whisked off to the hospital, where after a lengthy surgery he lives and the wedding takes place the same day in his room, where miraculously he is only connected to oxygen and is incredibly handsome (cue tears)
OR
Jim dies (cue tears)

It's unconscionable that The Glades was cancelled when Jim was shot on his wedding day. It was fun and engrossing. How are idiotic decisions like this made. What a loser network A & E has turned out to be. The Glades was one of the few shows that saved it.
